Sukhpreet Singh joined Gardewine in January 2023 as a part-time dock employee while pursuing his Supply Chain Management studies. Today, he’s a full-time team member and a mentor, helping new trainees transition smoothly into their roles.
Starting as an unloader, Sukhpreet quickly familiarized himself with essential tools like forklifts and power jacks. His responsibilities include unloading freight, organizing it by destination, staging it efficiently, and ensuring accurate billing and recycling protocols. Over time, he has also taken on the role of mentoring new hires, offering both orientation and hands-on job training to help them get up to speed. His mentorship continues well beyond initial onboarding, with regular follow-ups to support their development.
Reflecting on his journey, Sukhpreet shared how Gardewine has played a role in both his professional and personal growth. What began in a shared apartment during his student life has transformed into independent living and even the ability to purchase his car. “Gardewine gave me more than a job—it gave me stability, confidence, and a team I can count on,” he said.
He credits the flexible schedules and a safety-first culture as key motivators. “There are daily meetings that address safety incidents and improvements,” he noted. “Our suggestions are valued and acted upon, and that makes a difference.”
When asked what keeps him coming back every day, Sukhpreet didn’t hesitate: “The people. The environment is supportive, and the leadership genuinely cares. I’ve grown here professionally and personally, and I look forward to continuing that journey.”
