From Westman to Gardewine: Kevin Goebel’s Journey of Skill and Dedication

With nearly 40 years in the industry, Kevin Goebel brings a wealth of hands-on experience and technical expertise to his role as a trailer mechanic at Gardewine.

His journey began nine months ago, following Gardewine’s partnership with Westman. Initially, Kevin was hesitant about the move. “I wasn’t sure at first,” he says. “But a colleague from Westman who had already joined encouraged me to give it a try.” That conversation turned out to be a turning point.

Adjusting to a new environment and a much larger team was a change—but one Kevin embraced. “It was different at first, but the transition became smoother over time. Now I feel completely settled,” he shares.

He credits Gardewine’s supportive culture and strong team dynamics for making the shift a positive one. “I feel respected here. The focus on safety and the way the team works together—it fits well with how I like to work.”

A strong advocate for equipment safety, Kevin takes pride in his sharp eye for detail, especially when it comes to spotting issues with trucks and trailers. “He’s firm in his belief that safety should never be overlooked and is quick to act when something isn’t right.”

Outside of work, Kevin finds joy in his backyard garden and his passion for cooking. “I’m a chef,” he laughs, adding that tending to plants and preparing meals are his favourite ways to unwind.

Kevin’s dedication and expertise in both his work and personal life continue to strengthen Gardewine’s reputation for safety, quality, and teamwork.
