Bikramjit Singh, one of Gardewine’s outstanding linehaul drivers, was recently awarded the title of Driver of the Month. Having been with the company for 2.5 years, Bikramjit currently runs routes in Thunder Bay, covering vast distances across Northern Canada—from Flin Flon to Churchill—while visiting all Gardewine terminals nationwide. His passion for the job is evident in his love for the open road and his willingness to go above and beyond for both customers and colleagues.
Reflecting on his award, Bikramjit expressed both surprise and gratitude. Although it came as an unexpected recognition, he attributes it to his dedication and his commitment to supporting the team. When asked about memorable moments with Gardewine, Bikramjit shared two experiences that truly stand out.
The first occurred when his truck broke down during a trip up north. Gardewine’s support team immediately responded, sending assistance to ensure he reached his destination safely. Another challenging experience occurred on a freezing -45°C day near Grand Rapids. With his truck stalled 70 km from Thompson, Bikramjit called dispatch for help, and soon, a fellow Gardewine driver arrived to assist him and ensure he reached safety. These experiences underscore the strong support network at Gardewine, where colleagues always have each other’s backs.
Outside of work, Bikramjit, who once played hockey in India, now enjoys gardening, swimming, and spending time with his wife and children. He credits his family’s constant support for helping him stay focused and stress-free on the road.
Here’s to many more miles and successes with Gardewine, Bikramjit! Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated.
