Back in Summer, June 17, 2025, Gardewine Mobilized with GlobalMedic to Support Manitoba’s Fire Response

Back on June 17, 2025, 53 wildfires were actively burning across Manitoba, with 21 classified as out of control.

As wildfires raged across Northern Manitoba, Gardewine had the opportunity and willingly took on the responsibility to turn our logistics expertise into meaningful action.

Member of Parliament James Bezan had reached out with an urgent request asking if Gardewine could help move essential equipment to the fire zones.

With support from Mike Groening and everyone at Gardewine, we didn’t just say yes—we mobilized immediately.

Without hesitation, Gardewine donated the transportation of 16 fire skid units; the first load of tanks was sent north to fight the flames. Working in partnership with GlobalMedic, the non-profit organization that had donated the fire skids, Gardewine dispatched trucks to Edmonton, loaded the equipment, and hauled it to Northern Manitoba at no cost.

Once the units arrived in Winnipeg, our teams sprang into action again, using Gardewine forklifts and material-handling equipment to help load the skids into pickup trucks for distribution further north.

GlobalMedic volunteers joined us on-site to coordinate the process and ensure every unit was transferred smoothly and safely.

This collaboration wasn’t just about moving freight. It was about moving fast, working together, and stepping up when it mattered most.

Conversations were already underway to transport the next load of tanks, continuing our support for those battling the wildfires head-on.

At Gardewine, we pride ourselves on more than just logistics. We believe in community, responsibility, and action. In partnership with GlobalMedic, we had proven that when our province called, we didn’t just answer—we delivered.

To everyone who helped make this possible—thank you. This was what it meant to be Gardewine strong.
